Visium Resources has been asked to identify candidates for a Data Center Engineer - Microsoft and VMware position. This position will be remote on the east coast of the US and will require some travel, primarily south Florida where Data Center is location.
The Data Center Engineering (DCE) position is responsible for implementing, administering, maintaining and enhancing the Microsoft Windows and VMware Virtualization environments which support day-to-day operations of critical application environments. These systems serve Production, Non-production, Reporting and Disaster Recovery. The DCE needs to ensure the highest degree of systems performance and availability.
- Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead.
- Assist with installation, configuration, troubleshooting and resolution of applications and coordinate problem resolution with customers, analysts, and IT support.
- Build, configure, test, maintain and review High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity systems.
- Assist with maintenance and patches activity and apply vendor platform updates, and upgrades.
- Perform Certificate installation and management.
- Adhere to business policies, IT standards and vendor best practices; and participate in Change Control practices for all planned activities and events outages changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates would have the following:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server OS, SQL server, Print server, Disk management.
- Experience with VMware - vSphere design, integration and deployment.
- Experience with Cisco Data Center Servers and Pure storage a plus.
- Active Directory experience.
- Storage administration and operation experience.
- LAN/WAN networking experience.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills with management, peers, vendors, and customers.
