SCOR’s Operations team objective is to create opportunities that will enhance the value of Data and technology; drive the concept of intelligent operations to elevate decisions, boost profitability and identify efficiency gains. As a member of this team, the Junior Data & Reporting Analyst will support the organization Transformation & Simplification strategic initiatives.
The Junior Data & Reporting Analyst will be responsible for understanding and providing valid, relevant data to key stakeholders, by prioritizing requests, applying assumptions, extracting, organizing and analyzing data from target sources. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders and Lead BI developer to build reporting for departmental needs and business objectives.
In this role, you will be a key contributor to SCOR’s data strategies and be in position to influence the strategic direction of portfolio business.
Some travel may be required.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Help define and create SCOR’s big data analytics framework to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations in large amounts of raw data to help make informed decisions by partnering with stakeholders (Operations, Actuarial, UW, etc.) to design and create data solutions that will facilitate accessibility to Data and evaluation of portfolios.
- Work with stakeholders to collate, define and document Data and Reporting requirements to create actionable insights for SCOR.
- Collaborate with Global Operations team in creating reports to identify and communicate key findings and regular monitoring of key performance indicators.
- Maintain the data quality and change framework to facilitate iterative feedback and address any issues as it pertains to existing analytical tools and data views.
- Provide status updates of progress including where additional support is required.
- Use tools and programming language (e.g.., PowerBI, Palantir, Python, SQL) to consolidate, cleanse and/or transform and present data from various sources.
- Assist Lead BI developer in validating data solutions (e.g., reconciling, profiling and reviewing against raw source) and dashboard results against Financial and original source BDX files.
Analyse Data and identify data quality issues against key monitoring criteria and continually identify new areas of monitoring.
Required experience & competencies:
- 1-2 years of data analysis experience
- Strong proficiency in data programming languages such as R, Python and/or SQL.
- Experience with data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI).
- Experience with AI technology and tools (i.e., Matlab, Simulink)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Desired experience & competencies:
- Experience in data platforms such as Apache Spark, Databricks, HD Insight,
- Experience working with Data Governance Programs
Mathematics/Statistics background
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or range thereof, for roles that will be performed in New York. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, exams passed, and attained designations or certifications. The range listed is just one component of SCOR’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $70,000 - $84,000 salary pay year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
