The opportunity:
This position is responsible for ensuring that Sun-Times is in position to capitalize on home delivery and single copy sales through solid data analysis, customer problem solutions, and
reporting.
- Analyze complex business problems using data from multiple internal systems and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers, while maintaining data integrity.
- Use intuition and experience to resolve operational issues on the fly
- Further creation/development of routine and ad hoc reports
- Manage initiatives that focus on driving new projects, process improvements, and reporting enhancements for operations leaders
- Proficiency in all Circulation systems
- Understand consumer trends and make recommendations on promotions based on that understanding
The qualifications:
- 4 years of college or 1-3 years related experiences or equivalent combination of
experience and education - Strong communication skills and the ability to participate in a collaborative team
environment - Be proficient or have a strong working knowledge of Python, SQL, Javascript or Scala
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Basic understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirement
Nice to Have:
- Domain expertise in one or more of the following areas: Python, SQL, Javascript or Scala
- Previous experience in news media organizations
- Understanding of web technologies including HTML / CSS /
