OVERALL FUNCTION 

Mothership Strategies is seeking a passionate Data Analyst to join our team. Are you a self-starter who loves the details but can see the big picture? Then our Data Analyst position may be right for you. In this role, you’ll use the power of data to help our fundraising team raise every last dollar for our clients. The Data Analyst will work to make our processes more efficient, develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations, and enhance our use of data in all aspects of our fundraising programs. Previous political experience is not required, but a passion for working with Democratic and Progressive organizations is.

The Data Analyst will report to the Principal. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Data Collection/Management: 

• Extract, clean, and organize data from various sources including email campaigns, SMS platforms, CRM systems, and data warehouses. 

Data Analysis: 

• Perform exploratory and advanced statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in our fundraising campaigns. 

Reporting: 

• Create visual and written reports for internal teams and clients showcasing insights and recommendations. 

Campaign Optimization: 

• Collaborate with the digital fundraising team to implement data-driven strategies that enhance campaign effectiveness. 
• Design and interpret A/B tests to continuously refine our messaging, targeting, and overall fundraising strategy. 

Data Visualization: 

• Develop dashboards and visualizations to make complex data more accessible, understandable, and usable for decision-making. 

Stakeholder Communication: 

• Collaborate with teams, presenting data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Work with vendors on data-related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements: 

• Expert command of SQL 
   
• Expertise in at least one data visualization tool 
   
• Ability to work independently 
   
• Commitment to furthering progressive causes and electing Democratic candidates nationwide
   
• Excellent attention to detail 
   
• Excellent organizational, time-management and communication skills 
   
• Is excited to learn new skills and problem solve 

Nice to Haves: 

• Proficiency in Python, R, or Spark 
• Experience with L2, LiveRamp, Catalyst 
• Experience using Actblue, Shopify, or other eCommerce platforms 
• Experience using ActionKit, Acoustic, or other CRMs/Email Marketing Softwares 

Previous Experience: 

• 2+ years of experience in a full time Data Analyst role 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Term: 

• Regular, Full Time, Exempt

Salary: 

• Salary floor of $70,000, commensurate with experience

Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

• Our workforce is remote, with access to an office used for certain scheduled meetings.
• Typically, 40 hours a week although more is required during peak times. 
• Sedentary work; Extended time spent in front of a computer screen, Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
• Repetitive motion: typing
