We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and process-oriented Data Analyst to support our budget, accounting, and overall performance improvement team. Someone who can provide insightful data strategies and dissect business processes to help empower our colleagues and partners to make crucial timely business decisions.
About the Role:
You will be gathering a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative data from primary and secondary sources through diverse channels. You will be empowered to recommend methods to generate reports, analyze data, study processes, and provide courses of action to enable informed decisions by leaders at all levels within the Military Health System. You will be working at the apex of military medicine, meeting with senior ranking stakeholders, and making dynamic/high impact recommendations.
This includes:
- Working with PMs to prioritize business and information needs.
- Reviewing existing business processes and adjusting when needed
- Identifying and revising reporting requirements.
- Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports. Reports can be from single or multiple systems.
- Troubleshooting disparities in reporting due to inconsistencies between data sources.
- Locating and defining new process improvement opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate will have the following:
- Process oriented, ability to separate components and develop alternative solutions.
- A strong, conceptual understanding of data flow, data enrichment, data consolidation, change data capture and transformation.
- Performs tasks which may include obtaining data through advanced computerized models.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work tight timelines.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Confidence to attend meetings with Government representatives, make quantitative/qualitative recommendations, organize senior leader guidance, and follow through.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated experience writing queries, reports and presenting findings/recommendations to the team.
- The ability to evaluate and monitor data quality to meet the organization's information system needs and requirements.
- Experience and understanding of the Military Health System.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and excellent Microsoft PowerPoint Skills.
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize work effectively, as well as to function as an effective team member in a local and virtual team development environment.
Highly Desired
- Experience with dashboard reporting technology
- Experience in working with database applications, data visualization, data mining,
Education: Bachelor’s in data analytics, statistics, information systems, math, engineering, or related fields.
Experience: HS-13, AS-7, B-5, M-4
