CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Data Analystopening for our client in Anchorage, AK.

Location: Anchorage, AK

Duration: 6 months

Overview:

This Data Engineer role within Applied Digital Technology will be responsible for building data pipelines from source systems into the analytics environment with validation to allow creation and operations of analytical solutions and computational models.

This position is assigned with the primary work location in Anchorage Tower, Alaska. The role will receive day-to-day work direction from the Alaska Digital Technology Data Management and Analytics Senior Solutions Architect.

The Alaska BU is under-going a transformational data modernization initiative which will require refactoring legacy platforms and code to a modern technology stack. The initial focus of this role will be modernizing a business-critical Oracle database hosted on Unix leveraging Perl scripts for integration and transformation logic.

The role will also monitor, optimize, and support the development, test and production environments working closely with the database administrators, analytics architect, and IT infrastructure support to ensure system availability.

This role will be proficient at integrating and preparing large, varied datasets including time series data and designing specialized database tables and information links within the environment. The person will work closely with engineers, data scientists, geo-scientists, project/program managers, and IT teams to provide clean and reliable data.

This role requires a strong and current technology focus, practical analytical experience, and excellent written and communications skill.

Duties:

• Develop, test, and manage data pipelines
• Collect, explore, validate, and condition data
• Collaborate with business subject matter experts and data scientists to create data sets and engineer features for analytical models
• Productionize and operationalize analytical models
• Adhere to the company’s governance and compliance policies for data and processes
• Monitor model performance

Skills:

• R, C++, Java, SQL, Perl Experience with data visualization/analytics tools, plus strong Excel skills Spotfire, Power BI Experience with an RDBMS, including strong SQL skills Snowflake, Oracle hosted on Unix, Teradata, MS SQL Experience connecting to enterprise systems Experience with Cloud DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Azure, AWS (Cloud Formation, Terraform) MS Azure
• Excellent verbal and written presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
• Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork and communications
• Open attitude towards and ability to learn and utilize new technologies and standards
• An understanding of project processes and methodology to support Project Management initiatives and delivery Project Management

Experience:

• Experience with handling large amount of operational data
• Experience with Oil & Gas time series data feeds in combination with historical and unstructured data
• Oil and Gas Industry experience

Education:

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, Information Science,
• or related field with minimum 5 years of related experience MS Strong practical programming skills, including an advanced knowledge of one or more programming languages, and at least an intermediate knowledge of Python
