The Colleague Services and Digital Capabilities (CSDC) organization at American Express plays a critical role in in providing the best-in-class services, capabilities, data, and insights that enable a great colleague experience. The organization builds and evolves essential foundational and operational products and services to enable Colleague Experience Group (CEG) and the business. The CSDC organization manages the ecosystem of CEG platforms, applications, third party partners, colleague insights and reporting, and colleague-related risk, compliance, and governance.
As Data Analyst & Insights, Human Resources within Business Intelligence & Insights, you will enable our Colleague Experience Group and business unit partners to drive business decisions and strategy by building, implementing, and delivering on a range of colleague data, reports, and dashboards. The Data Analyst will collect, compile, and analyze HR data, metrics, and statistics, and apply this data to make recommendations related to recruitment, retention, and workforce management.
Not only you will serve as a center of excellence and subject matter expert for critical Human Resources data (including recruitment) your work will help shape the transformation of the function as we find ways to optimize what and how we deliver.
This individual must be analytical, technically proficient, intellectually curious, a strong collaborator, and an effective communicator.

How will you make an impact in this role?
  • Partner with American Express Colleague Experience Group Centers of Excellence (Recruiting, Talent, Benefits and other HR concentration areas) to identify and translate needs into requirements to pull /deliver insightful data, often across multiple systems.
  • Perform exploratory analysis and diagnostic analysis and engage with internal customers with the context.
  • Perform or provide directional inputs for data wrangling (clean up, validation, transformation) as needed.
  • Perform routine project management skills (status updates, logistics planning, stakeholder management, escalation, etc.)
  • Partner with data engineering, and business stakeholders to establish requirements and data models for follow up projects to act on or sustain insights.
  • Create effective visualizations to represent data relationships and key insights to accurately depict the overall health of recruiting.
  • Serve as a recruiting metrics subject matter expert where the integration and/or deployment of recruitment data is necessary.
  • Pull custom and /or critical requests for data as needed as well as maintain, optimize, and/or create new data reporting capabilities using a range of data visualization tools (e.g., such as Oracle Business Intelligence and Tableau).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 3+ years' experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
  • Strong knowledge of HR Recruitment processes and procedures
  • Experience in analyzing Data from applicant tracking systems (Taleo required); Eightfold preferred.
  • Experience in data extract /reporting Oracle Business Intelligence Reporting (preferred)
  • Highly proficient in development in Tableau; other visualization tools a plus
  • Highly proficient in data analysis using Excel or MS Office tools (Access, etc.)
  • Working knowledge with SQL or other query language required; HQL and Big Data tools (Hadoop, Hive) is a plus. Python and Cornerstone experience a plus
  • Effectively works independently within a team construct, while supporting teamwork and achievement of team objectives
  • A strong track record of working across diverse stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data, analysis, insight, and visualizations with passion, precision, and excellence.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills to deliver data-driven insights at an executive level.

Qualifications
Salary Range: $70,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits

Salary Range: $51,300.00 to $88,900.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
