This position supports a data analytics department or function by performing assigned tasks or assisting with assigned projects, allowing the incumbent to gain an understanding of the business function. This position allows the incumbent to gain work experience in one or more non-clinical roles specific to data analytics. The work experience and projects are typically under general supervision of one or more subject matter experts and support Intermountain's operations, mission, vision and values. This position will be assigned to one or rotate through multiple analytic teams which support specific business or clinical domains. This position will focus much of their time developing subject matter knowledge, analytic skills and tool competencies to complete meaningful analytic projects for the business or clinical stakeholders they have been assigned to support.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer hardware (pc, mouse, monitor, keyboard).
- Valid driver's license or the ability to travel within the Intermountain system. (Position may often require individual to travel between facilities to provide support)
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
- Self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service orientation with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
- Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate or upper level undergraduate student in an analytics related field such as statistics, mathematics, information systems, computer science, finance, business management, or economics.
- Working knowledge of SQL (structured query language), quality improvement principles, and a fundamental knowledge of database design principles.
- Applied understanding of data visualization design best practices
