Position Summary: To coordinate instructional assessment, accountability, and data analysis programs for the district.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- BA, BS, or Master's degree in a related field
- Successful experience with data in an educational setting
- Ability to work effectively with administrators and professional staff to achieve desired outcomes
- Experience using information systems for data retrieval and reporting
- Knowledge of basic statistics and their application
- Ability to interpret data, present findings, and articulate recommendations for the use of data
- Demonstrated experience in training adults to analyze data in the areas of assessment, curriculum, and instruction, including programs serving diverse learners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Provides support and accountability in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district's assessment and accountability program to meet the needs of the district's diverse student population.
- Plans, directs, and supervises a comprehensive system of testing and assessment related to federal, state, and local mandates focusing on high standards of student achievement.
- Creates, interprets, and communicates data/information to all internal and external audiences as needed to support the district's vision, mission, and goals.
- Assist the Teaching and Learning team in the analyses of federal, state, and district assessment data and the interpretation and reporting of results.
- Work with the curriculum team to provide evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to review curriculum and instruction program effectiveness.
- Report student, teacher, school, and district-level results, including analysis as appropriate
- Tracking student achievement/growth.
- Identifying trends in student data to highlight areas of curricular effectiveness and weakness.
- Provides collaborates with building Principals regarding the (assessment of student progress and educational program effectiveness.
- Plan and provide staff development for school/teacher level use of data to effectively inform instruction.
- Monitors longitudinal data to emphasize student achievement trends and identifies ongoing content area (needs on a district-wide and/or site-by-site basis.
- Prepares reports on student achievement specific to subject matter areas and grade levels to assist staff in responding to areas of growth.
- Disaggregates data to allow in-depth analysis of district and site subgroups as they pertain to student achievement.
- Assists with the coordination of district and site implementation of standards supporting the alignment of instruction, utilization of resources, including educational technology, assessment, and (professional learning).
- Works collaboratively with district leadership to analyze student achievement, the effectiveness of instructional programs and initiatives, assessments, and district professional learning to ensure coordination, alignment, and articulation of a comprehensive curricular and instructional program.
- Stays current in assessment and accountability reform and utilizes this knowledge to ensure ongoing improvements in high academic achievement and improved student outcomes.
- Provides expertise in assessing, identifying, formulating, and implementing the district's goals/objectives, as well as maintaining and carrying out adopted policies and procedures of the Board of School Committee and district administration.
- Work with educational leaders on special projects, including, but not limited to, student enrollment projections.
- Works independently, establishes and maintains project deadlines, manages multiple projects, works with a variety of individuals and groups, communicates orally and in writing, and travels to various locations.
