Our team is seeking a Cybersecurity Project Manager to work in the Washington, DC area. This is to support the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) cybersecurity mission to ensure HHS can actively protect the vital health information with which it is entrusted, respond to existing and emerging cybersecurity threats, and continue to enhance the program to ensure HHS has the capability and capacity to respond to new and emerging requirements, technologies and threats.
The Project Manager will work with the HHS Office of Information Services (OIS) GRC Director and Cybersecurity Risk Management Branch to support cybersecurity communications, engagement, and outreach initiatives for Cyber-Enterprise Risk Management and Cyber-Supply Chain Risk Management. Must be able to provide support in a fast-paced and dynamic customer environment with broad impact to the customer’s mission. This position supports the customer group and is responsible for providing the senior level personnel a broad array assistance. The role requires a strong problem solver, who can identify/anticipate requirements and provide creative solutions to the team.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support HHS Cyber-ERM and C-SCRM coordination of projects with Federal and Contracting stakeholders through all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Leads, coordinates, and facilitates recurring meetings with all stakeholders (e.g., customers, project resources/engineers, vendors) to ensure project status (schedule, issues, risks, or concerns) is effectively communicated throughout the project
- Track project deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.
- Ability to generate Roadmaps, Project Management Plans, After Action Reports, and any project related artifacts.
- Manage project risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Ensure ongoing project transparency and buy-in from government customers and stakeholders.
- The Project Manager role will require frequent interaction and coordination with a variety of stakeholders to include (but not limited to) senior Government personnel, Contractor leadership, operational staff, communications and training, security specialists, engineering teams, and organizations across the enterprise.
- Leverage subject matter expertise and problem-solving methodologies to foster solutions alleviating strategic roadblocks and create innovative solutions for ambiguous problem-sets.
- Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) / Policies and provides recommendations to update/improve/change SOPs, as needed/required.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree and five (5) years or more of related experience; Masters and three year of related experience. May accept an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust with HHS
- 5-7+ years of project management experience as a government contractor is preferred.
- Proficient with scheduling (using Microsoft Project) and project forecasting/estimating
- 2 to 3 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to adapt to various customers to include government and/or contractors
- Possess an inclination for critical thinking and analytical approaches to solving problems dealing with issues that are not readily defined and/or conflict with available information with the ability to reach sound decisions quickly employing systematic, multi-step approach
- Ability to resolve complex issues
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and principles.
- Superior writing and communication skills.
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field is highly preferred.
Clearance Requirement: a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
Desired Certification(s): Industry standard cybersecurity certification required (e.g. Security+, CISM). PMP Certified or in-progress.
