We are seeking a customer service representative (patient care coordinator) who can handle patient outreach/calling/scheduling/insurance verification/check-in and other front-office related responsibilities.
This is a great opportunity to work in an outpatient clinic environment. Strong candidates will be able to obtain a reference letter or recommendation.
Essential functions for front-office duties include but not limited to the following:
- Outreaching to patients to schedule for their annual wellness exam and explaining the benefits of the visit
- Scheduling appointments within the EMR system and calling patients to confirm and to re-schedule as necessary
- Answering phones, covering the front desk, verifying eligibility on various health plan websites, and placing patient appointment reminder calls the day ahead and the day of appointment
- Sending out reminder letters to all patients
- Coordinating transportation for patient pick-up and drop-off with transportation vendor
- Translating for Spanish-speaking patients
- Assisting with other assigned duties relating to front-office, outreach/scheduling and special projects/assignments where needed
Must demonstrate qualities of superior customer service, quality patient care, communication, teamwork, collaboration, respect and inclusion.
Must be reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
Must be professional, courteous, outgoing, and friendly team member with ability to multi-task
Must have car with insurance and valid driver’s license
Must be punctual and able to commit to a Mondays thru Fridays, 8 AM to 5 PM work schedule
Must have basic computer skills with knowledge of medical terminology
Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds
Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute

Minimum: High school education

Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish preferred
