Locally owned distributor and retail service company is seeking a Customer Service/Inside Sales Representative for the Manhattan, Kansas area.
Summary
This person must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, proficiency with computer systems, the capacity to work both autonomously and with teammates located in other offices, all while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times. This position does require an aptitude for technology and ability to learn various software systems including Office 365 components. Additionally, this position does require Inside Sales work in addition to standard Customer Service responsibilities. As such, this person must be friendly, outgoing, & comfortable making outbound calls to potential customers.
Essential Functions
- Provide timely and accurate information to customers regarding order status and product knowledge requests.
- Process customer orders, changes, or returns per established department policies and procedures.
- Handle complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits and follow up to ensure resolution.
- Prepare invoices and shipping documents.
- Work closely with the sales department, accounting department, and purchasing department to ensure customer orders or requests are being processed timely and effectively.
- Provide timely feedback to the Customer Service Manager regarding service failures or customer concerns.
- Partner with the sales team to help meet & exceed Customer Service expectations.
- Manage the retail floor, ensuring the appearance is kept clean and presentable for walk-in customers and the inventory stocking levels are appropriate on high moving items.
- Assist walk-in customers to help find the items they are looking for and assist them in ordering the products if not stocked on the retail floor.
- Assist the sales department with quoting, researching, and ordering Ad Specialty & Printing products.
- Make outbound calls to potential customers identified by the Sales Manager. Document the progress of these outbound calls in the Sales Management Software and follow up on the calls that show potential for progress.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED diploma, or three to six months’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One (1) year Customer Service experience with independent sales force.
- One (1) year Adobe Illustrator and Publisher experience.
Hours: Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
