Job description

The Customer Service Rep is responsible for taking and processing customer orders; responding to technical inquiries; following up on sales leads and providing competent and enthusiastic Customer Service.

Responsibilities 

  • Enter purchase orders received by telephone, mail, fax, email and websites.
  • Investigate and answer inquiries regarding the status of an order using our ERP system along with shipment tools. 
  • Receive, register, and process customer order and shipment related complaints by writing up forms and using the computer to process returns, replacements, and/or requests for credit.
  • Set up and manage scheduled standing orders, on our order entry system. This includes follow-up with Pricing Representative for quote renewal.
  • Ability with training to answer basic technical inquiries received by customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work well as a team, demonstrating a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed relevant to job functions and skills.

 Required Skills/Education 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years or more of Customer Service experience in an order entry department with a proven ability to resolve problems, achieve results and provide excellent Customer Service.
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures and strong Customer Service skills.
  • Working knowledge or basic calculator functions.
  • Ability to present a positive and team-oriented demeanor to all internal and external contacts.
  • A strong attention to details.
  • Ability to learn business requirements and use data systems to meet job.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience using an on-line order entry system.
  • Ability to speak English clearly. Must be able to read and write in English using proper grammar.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $18/hr. to $29/hr. depending on experience.

Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.)
