Custodian-On Call/Part-Time

Position Summary:
This is an ON-CALL position that will service the campus (Church, K12, Preschool & Park) as needed to FILL-IN when permanent custodians call out sick or go on vacation or when we need extra custodial help for our special events. Weekly hours will range from 0 up to 40 depending upon the circumstance. The work will require general custodial duties and not need to operate heavy or complex machinery.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

· High school diploma or GED

· Preferred: 2+ years’ experience in similar position but not required

· Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals

· Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions

· Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures

· Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies

· Plus: Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

· Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at heights when necessary

· Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time

· Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction

· Clean and service custodial equipment as needed

· Clean, sanitize, and supply bathrooms

· Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks

· Empty and clean trash receptacles and collect recycling

· Ensure grounds areas are clean and orderly

· Lock and unlock windows, doors, and gates

· Maintain floors in a clean state by sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping

· Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department head

Other Requirements & Physical Demands:

Schedule – A normal workweek is Monday through Friday starting around 5:30 - 6 pm and ending around 10-11 pm and when necessary for special events, holidays, etc. to fulfill the position’s needs.

· Must pass a background check

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

· Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $15.00 per hour
