The Gallipolis Developmental Center is located along the Ohio River within the historic city of Gallipolis. We provide off-campus work/habilitative activities provided during the day. In addition, we also have an Activity Center on-ground for habilitation, recreation, work-readiness and therapeutic training for individuals choosing those activities. We also provide a full array of health services, as well.
What You'll Do:
Cleans & maintains living facilities, dining areas, rest rooms &/or offices (e.g., dusts, mops, sweeps, buffs & waxes floors; scrubs sinks, toilets, countertops, walls & ceilings; dusts & cleans furniture & equipment; empties trash; washes windows; polishes mirrors & glass; vacuums & shampoos carpet; replenishes soap, paper towels & toilet paper).
Performs miscellaneous related duties (e.g., removes snow &/or ice from sidewalk; removes litter from grounds; replaces light bulbs; orders &/or stocks supplies; secures doors &/or windows; moves furniture; sorts &/or washes linens).

The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123:2-2-02, "Background Investigations for Employment," outlines disqualifying offenses that may preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
All final applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointments. An applicant with a positive test shall not be offered employment.
