Duties:
Under direction of the Crime Scene Unit Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the development of fingerprints, collection of evidence, CRIME SCENE photography, and documentation of CRIME SCENE investigations. The incumbent takes and develops fingerprints and digital images, processes evidence, and testifies in court and at depositions. Duties occasionally require the viewing of victims of accidents or violent crimes, and participation in an off-duty callout rotation.
Qualification Requirements:
All applicants must provide proof of the following at time of Application:
- High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by formal training in fingerprint development and photography; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- A minimum of one year of experience within the Crime Scene unit of a law enforcement agency with regular duties pertaining to scene processing and photography is preferred.
- Graduation from a CRIME SCENE technology program is preferred.
- Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
Note: Employee must have passed an approved Basic Crime Scene Processing course or equivalent prior to the completion of the six (6) months Probationary Period.
