Position Summary

This role is responsible for supporting and administering the Credit Union’s Credit Card processing and Credit Card strategies to increase product penetration and enhance the organization’s Credit Card portfolio. This role is an individual contributor within the organization.

Position Competencies

1. Attention to Detail: Follows detailed procedures; ensures accuracy in documentation and details; and all components/details. Remains focused during routine work; is organized and maintains a system of records.

2. Member Service Skills: Manages member accounts in a manner that ensures that member needs are understood and met. Provides timely and professional service to both internal and external members; is responsible to member needs and request; is always courteous to the member and considers the needs of the member when making decisions. a. Applies a 'member-centric' approach by using the Member Action Plan in order to uncover opportunities to improve our members’ financial lives by saving them money, making them money, or making their banking easier and more convenient. b. Utilizes and recommends available resource departments to members that best fit their needs, such as Business, Investment, or Mortgage Services. c. Effectively assists members and staff in solving accounts related issues by listening, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results.

3. Role Mastery of Essential Duties: Able to perform essential duties as outlined in job description. Contributes productivity and value within role. Is willing to learn and improve performance.

  • Process Credit Card control activities including the ordering of cards and file maintenance issues to ensure all service aspects of the credit union’s Credit Card portfolio are followed through.
  • Monitor daily and monthly Credit Card reports for exceptions and take action to correct exceptions in a timely manner to ensure account maintenance request is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Authorize and process cash advances for balance transfers by depositing funds to a Community Choice Credit union account verifying Credit Card records to ensure available credit.
  • Provide support and back up to team member of the Card Services – Credit Card area to ensure all duties and responsibilities of the department are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist in administering the Credit Card portfolio to ensure an accurate and current database system is maintained and to ensure the credit union is in adherence to compliance and regulation guidelines.
  • Process Credit Card applications along with member notifications and adverse action letters as needed to ensure time frame for approvals meets or exceeds goal turnaround time.

Education

High School Diploma - Required

Experience

6 months – 2 years – Related experience in a customer oriented field

Skills & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of financial industry
  • General knowledge of the Credit Union’s products and services
  • Understanding of state and federal lending and member service regulations (Reg Z – Truth in Lending & Reg B – Equal Credit Opportunity)
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and mathematical skills
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Ability to communicate with members (internal and external) by all methods of communication
  • Well organized
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate high level of flexibility
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to maintain professional and effective work relationships with other team members
  • Personal computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to use a 10 key calculator with little visual reference.
