What You’ll Do
The Cost Accountant II is responsible for managing cost of goods sold and inventory accounting, developing, and maintaining standard costs, and analysing manufacturing variances. The position will support cost accounting month end close, reconcile inventory, prepare month end journal entries and have the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, R&D and quality organizations.
- Provide analysis on cost revaluation to ensure inventory is valued properly.
- Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly cost accounting activities and related financial analysis and reporting. Analysis and reconciliation of Inventory Accounts. Prepare adjusting entries as needed.
- Oversee company's cycle count and year-end physical inventory programs.
- Maintain inventory / finance related data and system attributes within QAD. Work with Operations to improve business processes and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with SOX control environment and support SOX IT compliance, as applicable.
- Bachelor's degree required with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Minimum 1+ years of cost accounting experience; in-depth knowledge of manufacturing accounting.
- Experience with QAD (preferred), proven record of working with Operations and R&D.
- Enjoys the challenges of multitasking while staying flexible to shift tasks frequently.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate and collaborate with non-accounting professionals.
Salary Range: $81,000 -92,000/annually
