Cost Accountant

Position Summary:
Catalent Pharma Solutions is Morrisville, NC is hiring a Cost Accountant - Inventory Analyst for the FP&A group. The Finance department provides support in cost accounting, financial analysis, and inventory management. The Cost Accountant will assist the FP&A Manager and Sr. Cost Accountant in project cost and general accounting. This role will also assist in the daily analysis of manufacturing variances and inventory, month end close, and reporting integrity.
This is a full-time position: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

The Research Triangle Park (RTP) facility is Catalent's Center of Excellence for Analytical Services and is also home to Catalent's Inhalation franchise including product development, clinical and commercial manufacturing for pMDI, DPI and Nasal Sprays.

The Role

• Assist in setting and maintaining Standard Cost for Inventory Items for all Projects
• Work with the Finance Department for month-end close activities, balance sheet accounts reconciliation, Inventory, and fixed assets analysis
• Assist in setting and maintaining Standard Cost for Inventory Items for all Projects
• Support the finance team in establishing sound inventory policies, procedures, and financial systems to ensure the quality and integrity of inventories
• Assist in physical inventories and help review cycle counts to ensure proper internal controls are followed
• Maintain daily project costing activity -i.e., ensure adherence to customer contracts, project costing, revenue recognition, invoicing, credits, collections, etc.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly corporate reporting packages
• All other duties as assigned;

The Candidate

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related is required
• 3 or more years of General Accounting experience or similar is required
• Prior experience required in modelling financial scenarios and forecasting financial variables including analysis and evaluation of business activities
• Experience working with a major ERP system and Microsoft Excel is required; working knowledge of JDE or SAP is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred
• Experience conducting physical inventory and cycle counts is strongly preferred

• Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds;
