Job description

Under the general supervision of the Correctional Case Records Supervisor, the Correctional Case Records Analyst (CCRA) is responsible for calculating and modifying inmate release and discharge dates, applying credits, enhancements, work credits, policies, and procedures to ensure that inmates are confined and paroled from prison in compliance with existing laws, new legislation, and imposed sentences. This includes interpretation of appropriate laws and researching complex legal directives, as well as processing, maintaining, and controlling inmate/parolee records, and acting as liaison with other units, institutions, and agencies. As necessary, the CCRA may act as lead person over other Records Office staff.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment. If it is determined a candidate does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.
Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
All methods of appointments will be considered including transfers, reinstatements, and Training & Development (T&D) Assignments. MQ's for the class can be found on www.calhr.ca.gov .
Note: On the Examination/ Employment Application (STD. 678), in the "Examination(s) or Job Title(s) For Which You Are Applying" box, Applications must clearly state how you are eligible for the position (ie, transfer or list eligible). It is up to the hiring authority to accept Training and Development (T&D) assignments. If you are interested in a T&D assignment, you are not required to meet MQs; however, you must indicate T&D as your eligibility when applying in the appropriate box.

SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply.
