GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Business Intelligence Manager leads a group of reporting analysts and is responsible for the oversight and delivery of comprehensive and insightful business reporting to support achievement of the Credit Union's strategic and financial goals.
Primary duties of this role include oversight of the Business Reporting team and responsibility for the management of Golden 1's business reporting library. This consists of intake and report creation, enhancements to existing reports, overall organization of the reporting library, and other duties as assigned. Strong collaboration with business unit leaders is required to ensure that reporting is accurate and useful. Additionally, the manager will support data governance and data platform enhancement prioritization to support the evolving reporting needs of the Credit Union and its various business units.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee the business reporting function and enable data-driven decision making through the delivery of insightful business reporting.
- Actively manage the enterprise report library to ensure that reports are relevant, accurate, organized, and meet the needs of business unit stakeholders across the Credit Union.
- Regularly partner with IT and Senior Leaders to establish and continually reinforce data governance practices that protect and optimize value creation from the Credit Union's data.
- Effectively leverage data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Excel, etc.) to create impactful and insightful visuals that assist Senior Management with business decisions.
- Drive report automation to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the development and deployment of data solutions that leverage technology to improve and simplify daily activities.
- Effectively manage team resources to consistently deliver a timely and high-quality work product that supports both operational and strategic decision-making.
- Regularly rationalize reporting and relentlessly pursue report automation to drive speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Maintain an expert level competency with regard to data tools, including the following: PowerBI, SQL, Excel with competency in either SAS Enterprise Guide or R.
- Assist with requirement gathering using interviews, document analysis, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
- Develop strong working relationships with leaders and peers across the Credit Union in addition to driving high levels of employee engagement.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union's risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.
PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:
- Effective oral and written communication skills required to assist other staff, share reports, coach staff, communicate clearly with management, and perform other related tasks.
- Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, and telephone.

- EXTERNAL: Vendors, other financial institutions, business partners and industry peers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty (Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Management Science, or similarly quantitative/analytical degrees). Equivalent work experience with required knowledge/skills may be substituted for degree.
- EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in Leadership, supervising analyst in a reporting or analytical role
- 10+ Years of technical experience using data tools for the creation of reporting.

- Technical Ability
- Advanced data manipulation skills with SQL and Excel
- Expert Level proficiency with PowerBI
- Proficiency in Power Automate
- Advanced experience with at least one of the following data tools such as R, SAS Enterprise Guide or Python
- Data Fluency
- Ability to explore, interpret and understand data with minimal assistance.
- Expert ability to communicate what the data means using visualizations and aggregated tables.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
- Corrected vision within the normal range.
- Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
- Ability to lift 15 lbs. as may be required.
- Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Preferred: Data Analytics Certification like: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), IBM Data Science Professional Certificate, Datacamp Analyst Certification, Microsoft Data Analyst Associate Certification, SQL Certification, or other graduate work in the fields of finance, Business Intelligence or data analytics.
