Corporate Governance Sr. ParalegalBoston, United States of AmericaThe Corporate Governance Paralegal is responsible for supporting the Executive Director of Governance and Regulatory Relations and the Deputy and Associate General Counsels to support the oversight and implementation of Corporate Governance policies, procedures and processes related to Corporate Governance across Santander US. This includes providing research and administrative support to Board and Management Committees and supporting other Corporate Governance activities across the US. The Sr. Paralegal is responsible for providing consistent quality customer service to both internal and external customers that meets or exceeds the organization's standards.
- Supports the Executive Director and Deputy/Associate General Counsels in providing oversight and guidance to the company's and its various entities' management and boards of directors on Corporate Governance matters
- Conducts governance research and manages projects to respond to audit and other stakeholder requests as requested
- Supports Board and Management committee meetings to include preparing meeting agendas and consent agendas/resolutions
- Provides administrative support as requested for scheduling meetings, follow-up on information requests, and managing meeting logistics, as requested
- Ensures appropriate recordkeeping for Board and Committee matters.
Performs regulatory and compliance research and analysis.
- Assists in the preparation of governance documents to support attorneys.
- Maintains and organizes files and databases appropriate to the functional area.
- Conducts research and gather information.
- Supports management by responding to routine matters and questions.
- Monitors industry developments pertaining to functional area.
- Completes other related duties as directed by the Supervisor as it relates relevant to the position.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Political Science or equivalent work experience.
- Work Experience: 3+ years as a Paralegal or in a financial institution.
- Ability to define problems, collect relevant information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Proven ability to deliver precise and timely work product, perform under pressure, remain organized and handle highly confidential material.
- Knowledge of basic banking principles.
- Ability to work with and communicate with all levels of staff.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
