We are seeking a Corporate Director for Generative AI & Innovation to join the cross-enterprise Emory Data & AI team reporting directly to the Chief Data & AI Officer for Emory University and Emory Healthcare. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping to identify, vet, select, and establish innovative partnerships with established technology vendors and startups in the data, analytics, and AI space with a specific initial focus on generative AI to support use cases in healthcare, higher education, research, and internal business functions like finance, operations, human resources, supply chain, marketing, etc.
Work Location: Hybrid - Atlanta, GA: On-site presence required 2-3 days per week.
Corporate Director, Generative AI & Innovation Salary: $76.32/hr - $127.19/hr
Responsibilities:
- Help identify, vet, and select potential partners including but not limited to established technology vendors and emerging organizations, with unique Generative AI and other state-of-the-art capabilities that could drive considerable value back to Emory and to Emory constituents (e.g., patients, providers, faculty, researchers, students, staff, the community, etc.).
- Develop persuasive Board and C-Suite level communications to build the case for investment or partnership.
- Build Emory's reputation as an innovative leader in Responsible AI within the higher education, healthcare and research communities.
- Facilitate vendors, startups, and leadership alignment around mutually beneficial and creative deals for implementing unique solutions with data, analytics, and AI.
- Assist vendors, startups, and internal technology and delivery teams with hands-on with implementation of proof-of-concepts, pilots, and final solutions.
- 5+ years of previous experience in implementing cutting-edge technologies in a complex business environment, guiding AI integration strategy, and utilizing a variety of deployment tools and environments.
- 5+ years of previous experience in managing technical or solutions teams.
- 3+ years of experience in corporate development/ventures and/or business and relationship development preferred.
- 3+ years working in healthcare, research, and/or higher education or with clients in one or more of these spaces preferred.
- High proficiency in a variety of cutting-edge technologies, methodologies, and approaches including generative AI, other forms of AI, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, edge computing, blockchain, etc.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships and trust with technical team members, peers, and executives.
- Strong understanding of and ability to articulate data, analytics, and AI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong interest and ability to educate and train technical and non-technical team members on new solutions, technologies, methodologies, approaches, etc.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills.
- Ability to produce and iterate on content rapidly.
- Strong attention to detail but with a bias for action.
