Job Description Summary
The Taylor Morrison Internship Program is open to students who are enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical school. You must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for this internship. Interns will have the opportunity to learn more about Taylor Morrison's core values, how they drive everything we do and take an active part of the magical experience called new home building.

Job Details
What You'll Learn & Do
As a Corporate Accounting/Finance Intern you will spend time in various department and will shadow team members that will provide you leadership and help you learn and grow.
Areas of opportunity may include:
Accounting Summary:
  • Work within a corporate team environment and gain exposure to multiple accounting systems including General Ledger (Newstar), Consolidations & Reconciliations (OneStream), Fixed Assets (BNA), Leases (Visual Lease), etc.
  • Work with accounting professionals in a deadline-orientated organization to complete various tasks such as month end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Gain exposure to SEC reporting activities and preparation of quarterly financial reports.

Financial Planning & Analysis Summary:
  • Track and analyze KPIs and assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial reports.
  • Develop financial projections and build financial/operational models.
  • Understand key business drivers to assist in the general support of the Finance team.

Tax Summary:
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly tax accounting and compliance calculations.
  • Learn about different types of federal and state income tax filings, including corporate vs partnership filings.
  • Participate in development of Alteryx workflows for tax calculations.

Internal Audit Summary:
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the role and functions of internal audit within a public company, including its goals, objectives, methodologies, and contribution to organizational risk management.
  • Participate in internal audit activities related to operational audits, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, internal control advisory projects, and data analytics.
  • Collaborate and learn from experienced audit professionals to acquire practical insights into the application of audit principals and the broader business environment.

You might be just who we're looking for if you have...
  • High School Diploma/GED and enrolled in an accredited college or university or technical school
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications as well as have savvy computer skills
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written as well as strong in organization skills
  • Customer service-oriented mindset and believe customer is number one priority
  • Understanding of the need to be flexible and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
  • This position is considered a non-exempt position for purposes of wage-hour law, which means that you will be required to keep a time record and will be eligible for overtime pay.

  • Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to schedule
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
  • Ability to have face to face conversations with customers, co-workers and higher-level manager
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle if applicable
  • Comply with company policies and procedure

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
