Position Overview
C2 Education is looking for a Corporate Accountant who thrives in core general ledger and financial reporting roles, but who is also curious and flexible enough to learn and support the other areas of the Accounting Department, such as taxes, payables, and payroll. The Corporate Accountant will report to the Controller and will assist with the monthly close and reporting process. In addition, the Corporate Accountant will be an integral part of the C2 Education Accounting Team and will work closely with all team members to ensure the accuracy of our financial statements.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries as assigned.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations as assigned.
- Work with Controller to perform technical accounting research on an as needed basis.
- Assist in the review of actual to budget reports, on a monthly basis, to identify drivers of significant variances, and the impact (if any) on the remaining forecast, and any areas of concern.
- Assist in coding expenditures to ensure proper alignment with budget, and verifying budget is sufficient.
- Assist with the creation and compilation of routine and ad hoc financial reports.
- Be an active participant in the Company’s annual audit process and help coordinate auditor requests.
- Assist with other accounting and finance projects, as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Essential to Job Functions
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting and ability to compose, enter, post, review, and approve journal entries, ensuring proper accounting debits and credits.
- Ability to extract and analyze ledger activity and prepare proper account reconciliations, enhancing our system of processes and controls while maintaining adequate audit support records.
- Exercise sound independent judgment within established guidelines; ability to work independently.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Work involves meeting multiple demands on a timely basis and may require occasional overtime; work outside regular business hours may be required from time to time.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of Public Accounting or Industry experience
- Outstanding communication skills and positive attitude
- GP Dynamics literacy preferred, as well as MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
