- Diagnoses, repairs, and reprograms or replaces faulty electronic components such as relays, switches, various sensors and instrumentation, circuit boards, PLC/HMI and computer components.
- Pushes buttons and presses keys on programmable controllers to program automated machinery, such as robots, operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
- Installs/connects power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed or existing machines and equipment.
- Reads and interprets electrical and mechanical prints and schematics.
- Plans layout of wiring and installs or directs the installation of wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus.
- Maintains and troubleshoots the control system network and components.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Maintains the calibration of electrical instrumentation.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses results with Plant Manager.
- Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
