About the Role
Your Role
- Plans and conducts complex Optical Engineering assignments, resulting in practical designs and systems for specialized optical instruments which meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
- Design, optimize, and integrate LPP/DPP EUV sources, reflective optics, spectral-purity systems, gratings, nanofabricated diffractive optical elements, and contamination mitigation systems within EUV beamlines, while implementing power and focus diagnostic systems to ensure high-performance and reliability.
- Handle discrete optical systems, including CCDs, lenses, illumination, and machine vision systems both in air and in-vacuum environments.
- Create and/or review specifications for mirror surfaces and overall shape, including surface figure.
- Conduct optical tolerance and throughput calculations, encompassing alignment tolerances and manipulation ROM requirements, while ensuring optimal optical throughput based on source characterization analyses.
- Define and maintain environmental specifications for temperature, humidity, particulate cleanliness, vibration, and vacuum requirements.
- Specify and select optical components for various systems.
- Design and set up experimental configurations for atmospheric and EUV beamlines, utilizing Zemax and Solidworks.
- Apply Matlab for image analysis, including pattern matching, uniformity, contrast/focus, and roughness determination.
- Utilize klayout for GDS creation.
- Use LabVIEW to develop data acquisition and control algorithms.
- Demonstrates proof-of-concept for innovative solutions to complex problems in optical design, opto-mechanical assembly, and alignment and testing of optical components and systems.
- Creates and maintains optical system layout drawings and associated documentation.
- Ensure adherence to fabrication standards and quality control.
- Provide Field Service Engineer (FSE) support as needed.
- Contribute to ongoing projects across R&D, Product Development and Field Services Engineering, including source development, resist testing, microscopy, and scatterometry.Stay informed concerning new optical/optomechanical technology and equipment and investigate their potential applications.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's of Science degree (B.S.) in physics, laser, or Optical Engineering, Master's or PhD. in Optical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience in EUV beamlines, involving LPP/DPP EUV sources, reflective optics, spectral-purity systems, gratings, nanofabricated diffractive optical elements, and contamination mitigation systems.
