What Will You Do?
The Finish Process Engineer (FPE) at Ryobi works within a diverse cross functional team of Engineers to support both Production and Maintenance activities on a daily basis as well as providing equipment design support for new product launches. The Finish Department Process at Ryobi consists of a range of small manually loaded machines to fully automated co-operating robotic work cells.
- Demonstrate ability to identify and perform tasks with minimal guidance or direction.
- Ability to work in a safe manner and ensure safety of others.
- Ability to identify potential hazards and assess risk.
- Provide automation technical support to manufacturing operations.
- Work with external companies and project teams to develop new processes and process improvements
- Lead investigation of automation related deviations.
- Develop and implement plans for continuous Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements by enhancing yields, uptime, and cycle times on designated finishing systems.
- Develop and implement plans for continuous cost reductions.
- Develop and implement plans for continuous product inventory reductions. Analyze ways to improve product flow through the department while also enhancing ergonomic conditions.
- Ensure timely completion of documentation and process updates resulting from product changes, audits, complaint investigations, documentation reviews, process reviews and equipment reviews.
- Demonstrate skills and capabilities in analytical and critical thinking, complex problem solving, and team leadership.
- Demonstrate creative thinking and ability to seek innovative solutions to complex technical/business problems.
- Assist with cross department 8-D analyses and Design of Experiments
- Develop effective and productive working relationships with colleagues both internal and external of the FPE department.
- Develop and maintain equipment standards.
- Develop robust Request for Quote (RFQ) documents to be sent to contractors for services that may include utilities, machine design, tooling design, or integration.
What Will You Need?
- Education/Experience: Degrees preferred are Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or Industrial Engineering and all related Technology degrees.
- Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of experience OR
- Associate degree + 6 years of experience OR
- 8 years of experience
- Ability to read and understand Mechanical and/or Control System Drawing Sets as they pertain to equipment.
- Ability to read and understand customer Technical Drawing for Manufacturing
- Proficiency with current Windows Operating Systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Organizational and Team leading skills.
- To qualify as a Lead Finish Process Engineer
- Ability to use AutoCAD to create and modify Control System Drawings and Schematics
- Ability to use Rockwell Automation’s Studio5000 software to troubleshoot and modify Allen Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix PLCs.
- Ability to use Rockwell Automation’s Studio5000 software to create/develop PLC programs.
- Ability to use Rockwell Automation’s FactoryTalk View Studio ME/SE to modify/develop HMI displays.
- Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and create Ethernet/IP machine networks.
