Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client's team in Franklin Park, IL. As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the design of control systems, control panels, and electrical components, as well as PLC and HMI programming using Allen Bradley software. This position contains little to no travel, and this person will lead several electrical engineers and drafters.
Responsibilities:
- Design of control systems, control panels, and electrical components, ensuring customer specifications and code requirements are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
- Write and program PLC and HMI systems
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, identifying and resolving any issues or malfunctions.
- Create and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for electrical systems.
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and incorporate innovative technologies into projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes.
- Maintain UL files and records for listed products
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years experience in designing control systems, control panels, and electrical components.
- Strong proficiency in PLC and HMI programming - Allen Bradley
- In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and industry standards.
- Designing in AutoCAD
- Experience working at a custom equipment maker
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and codes (NEC, NFPA, UL, CSA)
