Controller (Manufacturing Business) - Loveland, CO

Sun Mountain Custom Doors, an industry-leading manufacturer of custom doors and architectural millwork products, is seeking a Controller. This position is located in beautiful northern Colorado and is responsible for all accounting and financial operations for this growing, debt-free manufacturer. Accounting and financial leadership of a Manufacturing Business is required. Hands-on experience in standard costing and ERP systems is required. This position reports to the company President.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the technical accounting related to standard costing and completing required calculations and entries.
- Owns assignment of indirect costs to product costs, including activity-based costing.
- Performs monthly internal financial reporting analysis for support of management decision-making.
- Responsible for collaboration and execution of the company’s financial planning and forecasting process.
- Ensures compliance and completes filings with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Oversees all aspects of the back-office area, including Accounts Payable, Credit and Collection, Payroll/Human Resources, and General Ledger.
- Responsible for managing the company's ERP system to ensure data integrity, processes and procedures, administration, and maintenance.
- Develops, implements, and maintains business policies, processes, and procedures.
- Leads, trains, develops, motivates, and evaluates staff for achievement of company goals.
- Works cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy.
- Completes ad hoc projects as required.
EXPERIENCE
- 7-10 years of accounting experience required.
- Relevant industry experience and manufacturing experience are required.
- 3-5 years of standard cost accounting experience is required.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessary.
- Detail-oriented and technically minded.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize.
- Strong research and reconciliation skills are required.
- Proficient use of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel required.
- Relational database experience, including use of MS Access and MS SQL preferred.
- Knowledge of and exposure to multi-company organizations preferred.

EDUCATION (CERTIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
- CPA license or CMA certification a plus.
