Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Accounting, the Assistant Controller will manage the preparation of financial reporting, internal control systems, and assist in financial audits. The Assistant Controller will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.

• Support the VP of Accounting in managing the day-to-day accounting operations, providing guidance and support to other accounting staff members.
• Manage month-end and year-end close activities and refresh close schedules.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, including financial statements, operational metrics, and maintain appropriate records.
• Establish and maintain internal controls and serve as an administrator to the accounting system.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
• Review the reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of balances.
• Partner with FP&A to create a cross-functional close review process, and support in budget variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate standard costing, providing regular review and updates to costs as required.
• Preparing and assisting with external audit activities.
• Work with VP of Accounting and tax team on annual tax compliance schedules.
• Performs financial analysis and special projects as needed.
• Allocates resources, manages expectations and performance, and drives team efficiencies.
• Provides coaching, mentoring, and technical and professional support to team members in an effort to support morale, team dynamics, team, and individual professional growth.
• Prepares and presents performance reviews and development plans to track success and areas of opportunities for team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant degree
• Big 4 audit experience.
• Experience in GAAP, and ASC 606.
• 7+ years accounting experience, including experience with SaaS companies.
• Experience in journal posting, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and closing accounting periods.
• Supervisory skills, including planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient in computer-based office software including Excel, Word, Access, and current mainframe office software.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CMA or CPA
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and/or QuickBooks
