Controller - newly created role

One of Vaco's healthcare clients is looking to onboard a Controller with oversight over a team. This is a newly created position that will report directly to the CFO and be responsible for all the GL accounting, financial reporting, AR, AR and Payroll.
It's a pretty dynamic environment that includes a lot of process improvement and scaling and ad hoc projects.Responsibilities:Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger system, including chart of accounts maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure compliance with auditing standards.
Tax Compliance: Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and optimize tax strategies.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field
CPA required
Public accounting experience highly preferred
Public company experience required
