Job Summary:

As the Senior Project Controls Specialist you will execute, administer, and supervise the cost control, schedule management, progress, performance monitoring, and change management of one or more projects/programs within Ledcor Technical Services. You will collaborate closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and optimize project performance from initiation to completion. In addition to overseeing Project Controls activities, you will play a vital role in mentoring and guiding junior team members, providing them with valuable insights and support to help them develop their skills and grow in their roles.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate recording of project/program progress and provide the information required to facilitate timely and accurate invoicing
  • Use available reporting tools to report on the Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), and other performance metrics commonly used for the monitoring and status of projects/programs
  • Update and maintain the Estimate at Completion (EAC)
  • Cultivate a thorough understanding of the applicable project/program via a critical examination of the contract provisions, scope of work, estimate, and risk profile
  • Develop a Project Controls Plans (PCP) and proceed with the build out of the baseline control budget
  • Lead the preparation of the project/program schedule with input from client, engineering, procurement, and construction
  • Meet weekly with Construction to update progress, publish three-week lookaheads, and month end reporting packages
  • Monitors and coordinates with Operations, Commercial, and Finance to manage change to the baseline quantities, scope, cost, and schedule
  • Develop, train, and coach direct reports

Requirements:

  • Five to seven years of technical and practical expertise experience in a Project Controls role
  • Experience with linear project work such as Transmission and Distribution, Pipeline, and Utilities
  • Program/portfolio management experience will be considered an asset
  • Have experience in a supervisory role providing mentorship, coaching, and training to junior Project Controls staff and new hires
  • Experience with managing a team remotely
  • Intermediate level experience with Power BI will be considered an asset
  • Intermediate P6 experience will be considered an asset

  • This is a work from home position with the understanding that from time to time you may be required to attend the office or site as business needs require
