Job Title: Controller

Position Summary: The Controller is a proactive business partner; providing leadership and management of financial activities and working with the leadership team, and all departments and levels of employees to drive company growth and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the accounting and purchasing department.
- Prepare monthly and yearend financial reports providing useful, timely, and accurate information to senior executives to successfully perform their responsibilities and meet and/or exceed the organization’s goals.
- Deliver information to CPA firm for timely filing / completion of their field work, and tax returns.
- Hands on management of all accounting functions including, but not limited to: A/R, A/P, Payroll, Fixed Assets and Inventory Management. Some hands-on accounting is necessary.
- Management of multi state sales tax reporting.
- Develop and evaluate the current team structure and talent with an eye towards efficiency, effectiveness, continuous improvement, and use of best practices to create high performance.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to administer employee benefits, employee evaluations, and overall employment needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with insurance brokers related to business insurance and employee benefits.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures with systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
- Manage information systems efficiency within various divisions. Reducing duplication and managing long term needs.
- Engage with the management team in formulating the organization’s long-term direction and goals.
- Manage oversight of corporate 401k plan and all related compliance.
- Manage risk management, specifically ensuring adequate corporate insurance coverage and premium management.
- Work efficiently while paying attention to detail.
- Participate and contribute to a “Team” environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field.
- Minimum of 5 years of growth in corporate and/or public accounting environment, preferably with manufacturing experience.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Proven experience in manufacturing product costing and inventory valuation.
- Demonstrated experience in financial statement preparation and analysis
- In depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices
- Highly organized, analytical, interpersonal, ethical, clear communicator with a strong eye for details.
- High level of energy and passion for the organization and the role.
- Advance skills in Microsoft Office Products and accounting software; experience with NetSuite and ADP is a plus.
- A hands-on approach that earns the respect of customers, vendors and co-workers.
