Job Summary:

The Controller will direct the financial operations of the company including budgeting, planning, investing, and other financial matters in alignment with WMMHC’s mission, vision, and values. This position requires a solution-based financial and strategic leader to advance goals and profitable growth. The Controller develops tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to make actionable recommendations on strategy and operations to meet continually changing financial impacts of reimbursement methods to WMMHC’s Executive Team.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

  • Must have a solid understanding of the relationship between healthcare finance and operations in a complex and evolving healthcare environment including in-patient and out-patient services, community health, and business and office functions
  • Requires knowledge of purchasing facilities, rental/lease agreement management, and capital finance skills, including the ability to negotiate with banks, bond marketing institutions, and regulatory bodies for capital financing.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex theories such as management theories and practices and data collection and interpretation. Must be able to respond logically to a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to utilize mathematical skills such as probability, statistical inference and ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical work situations.
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically, utilize effective persuasion and influence the views of internal and external partners by forging a common understanding regarding budget and accounting issues and problems and willingness to share information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or a related discipline is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of broad finance experience and supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check upon offer of employment
  • Provide proof of auto liability insurance coverage per Western’s policies
  • Valid current driver’s license with good driving record.
