Position Description:
The Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)/Infection Control develops and implements job skills training, in-service education, orientation and onboarding or new staff. The purpose of the role is to assure our building is a great place to work and receive care by making certain our staff are welcomed, competent, and supported in their development. Our SDC is a key contributor to workplace culture, promoting and upholding our organizational values.
Responsibilities of the Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)/Infection Control:
- Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance workflow, and/or improve the work environment.
- Work cooperatively with the Administrator and Director of Nursing in assessing educational needs and plan programs to meet these needs and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor certification and license status and renewals.
- Administer TB and Hepatitis B vaccines.
- Conduct new hire orientation.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements of the Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)/Infection Control:
- LPN license in MT required. RN license in MT preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in a health care setting; long-term care setting preferred.
- Must have a current/active CPR certification.
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
- Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
