Job Description
Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management
reports. Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting
systems. Ensures the integrity of accounting information by researching account issues for compliance and by
establishing quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing,
collections, inventory, cost accounting, fixed assets, and general accounting.
· Coordinate the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and investment activities.
· Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures.
· Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, government policies and directives, and
current accounting standards.
· Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and
procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
· Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
· Interface with outside firms; including banks, insurance companies, accounting and tax, attorneys, and collection
agencies.
· Recommend and monitor key performance indicators and make suggestions for performance improvements.
interfacing with plant leadership to propose and implement suggestions.
· Manage and develop employees in the Finance department.
· Maintain an effective control environment over company assets and expenditures.
· Establish proper accounting records, controls, and documentation.
· Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
· 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, metal casting industry experience preferred.
· A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
· MBA, CPA, CMA preferred.
