The Opportunity:
Door Pro America is seeking a Controller to drive and improve financial reporting. This new position for the company is necessitated by its growth over the past several years as well as anticipated expansion through both organic growth and acquisitions. As a new position, the company is looking for a hands-on professional willing and able to immerse themselves in detailed reporting and analyses. Additionally, the scope of the responsibilities requires that the successful candidate work on-site at our headquarters in Gainesville, Virginia. The Controller will report to the CFO.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the Finance and Accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and invoicing staff and payroll department.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting and other financial staff.
- Perform account analysis and general ledger reconciliation
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Manage cash through a rolling 13-week cash forecast and effective Treasury oversight.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure timely sales tax reporting and payment.
- Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
- Prepare financial reports and analyses for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Manage and improve the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Serve as the primary interface with the company’s auditors and tax advisors.
- Establish a positive working relationship with the private equity team and provide relevant data and analyses.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 5-10 years’ experience in accounting/finance
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
- In-depth knowledge of corporate accounting principles and regulations
- Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience with private equity would be a plus
Skills:
- Leadership: Ability to provide a hands-on management across each accounting related team
- Financial analysis: Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making purposes
- Account analysis: Ability to review and analyze accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Budgeting: Experience in developing budgets and monitoring financial performance against targets
- General ledger reconciliation: Proficiency in reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
- Financial management: Ability to oversee all aspects of financial operations within an organization
- Corporate accounting: Knowledge of corporate accounting principles and practices
