Golden Pass LNG, a joint venture of QatarEnergy & ExxonMobil, has an exciting opportunity in Operations at our Sabine Pass, TX location (approximately 10 minutes from Port Arthur, TX). We are looking for team members that have a proven track record of providing support, have strong intrapersonal and communication skills, and are self-motivated and self-directed to be a part of our transformation from an import facility to the premier LNG exporter in North America.
The role of the Control Room Operator is responsible for the operation of the facility following the technical and safety procedures and standards according with the Company business plan. The Control Room Operator performs routine operational activities on terminal equipment such as inspection, start-up and shut-down on their shift and operates a DCS control panel to monitor and operate the facility. Control Room Operators interface directly with Operators, Operations Supervision, Managers, Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, Contractors and Vendors and uphold and ensure compliance with HSE and compliance standards for performance and behavior.
QualificationsEssential Duties / Functions
- Operates a DCS control panel to monitor and operate the facility. Also view, enter, control, edit, format, print process, and provide operating data that supports daily gas balance, and distribution information.
- Performs routine operations on terminal equipment such as inspection, start-up, and shut-down on shift.
- Performs all work in accordance with sound safety practices and using appropriate safety devices and equipment.
- Maximize terminal performance, reliability and ensures adherence to technical and operating policies, procedures and standards.
- Applies Health, Safety and Environmental Standards in all working procedures.
- May fill in for Shift Supervisor position during his absence.
- Participates in the Emergency Response Actions on shift in an emergency event.
- May be required in emergency situations to report to work during unscheduled times.
- Must be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime; share on-call duties.
- Serves as the “Person In Charge of Transfer” for (un)loading operations;
- Conduct work group/safety toolbox briefings.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor or Associate’s degree is preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position:
- Minimum 5 years of DCS control board experience in a similar position of responsibility in Petroleum, Chemical, or an LNG facility. 3 years in LNG or other refrigeration processes preferred
- Must have a good basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic theory and application and be able to learn to use manuals and other resources to apply that knowledge in operations and other diverse requirements of the job.
- Must possess considerable knowledge and experience in the application/operation of software programs that go beyond basic word processing. Work may involve the development of moderately complex PC spreadsheets, and presentation or graphic materials; maintain electronic log book and electronic valve management program HSE knowledge.
- Working knowledge of plant installations and specifications with experience in accepted industry procedures, safety and environmental policies.
- Experience with cryogenic refrigeration, gas processing, and/or steam preferred.
- Experience with Emerson Delta V preferred.
