The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia's public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.

Job Description
Job Title: Contracts Specialist- Accounts Payable
Pay Grade: K
Job Summary:
This position will work closely with the divisions of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities to assist with the procurement and contracting processes. This position deals with a large volume of documents and requires good attention to details. The work environment is fast paced and the successful applicant will be required to turnaround documents within a short period of time.
Under limited supervision, job duties are:
- Assists with the compilation of contract documents;
- Reviews contract documents for compliance with departmental and state guidelines;
- Resolves contract payment issues including, but not limited to, budget revisions, missing payment and purchase orders issues;
- Manages contract payments for assigned contracts to include fiscal tracking of expenditures;
- Assists administratively with uploading documents to various data systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND two years of contracting-related experience OR six years of contracting-related experience OR two years of experience required at the lower-level Contracts Administrator 2 (LEP031) or equivalent position.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Ability to review budgets to ensure accuracy
- Must be willing to be a team player and assist others in area of assignment.
- Must have a very positive attitude to work and excellent work ethics.
- Strong verbal, writing and presentation skills and strong customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task
- Must be willing to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers without compromising State and Departmental policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience in Procurement and Contracts
- Experience in state or local government
- Experience with Peoplesoft
- Ability to process contract documents
- Knowledge of contract terminology.
