Job Summary
- Performs engineering duties in planning and designing components, subassemblies and assemblies related to pressure and temperature sensing devices.
General Accountabilities
- Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
- Uses CAD (preferably SOLIDWORKS) to do design work as well as perform finite element analysis
- Researches, designs, evaluates, installs, operates, and maintains mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements.
- Confers with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve product malfunctions, or provide technical information.
- Recommends design modifications to eliminate sensor in-process and in-field malfunctions.
- Conducts research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of pressure sensors, sub-assemblies, or components.
- Investigates equipment failures and difficulty diagnose faulty operation/processes and makes recommendations to Manufacturing Engineering and Operations.
- Develops and tests models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications, and necessity of modification to existing and/or new products.
- Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to develop, coordinate, and monitors all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
- Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Researches and analyzes customer specifications and/or Marketing data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, requirements of new designs or applications.
- Writes performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.

Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering technology
- Experience: At least 5 years' experience as professional Mechanical Engineer preferably in pressure sensing technologies or other technologies where the design work concentrates on small, compact, electro-mechanical assemblies that need to survive extremely harsh environments (e.g. rocket launch vehicles, motorsports, oil and gas (including sub-sea drilling)
- Work aptitude: Enjoys working with hands, building, testing, evaluating, and reiterating product designs for optimal performance.
