Summary of Position
The Contract Manufacturing Manager/Sr. Contract Manufacturing Manager at MacroGenics plays a crucial role in promoting the company’s Contract Development and Manufacturing (CDMO) business opportunities while ensuring the successful management of client relationships and projects. This position is responsible for overseeing the delivery of assigned projects and initiatives, contributing to the overall success of MacroGenics’ CDMO business.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Lead the proposal process by facilitating collaboration and seamless communication between internal stakeholders and clients.
- Translate requests for Information (RFI)/ Requests for Proposal (RFP) into comprehensive scopes, budgets, and timelines.
- Organize and facilitate both internal and external meetings to enhance collaboration and maintain alignment on project goals, timelines and deliverables.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
- Lead cross-functional CMC project team meetings for assigned CDMO programs and ensure team focus on delivery of project objectives within agreed time, budget, scope and quality.
- Facilitate joint meetings with partners including proactive agenda development and meeting preparation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to proactively anticipate and identify project risks and develop action and resolution plans.
- Monitors and manages day-to-day aspects of product introduction.
- Leads communication and delivery to the client and resolve difficult problems to complete deliverables.
- Monitor deliverables and provide regular updates on program status to both internal and external stakeholders, utilizing established project management tools.
- Forecast and track project budgets to provide timely reconciliation of actual expenses against project budget.
- Research, identify, and cultivate future business development opportunities within the CDMO landscape by networking at industry events, direct outreach.
- Contribute to the development of strategies and initiatives to streamline CDMO operations at MacroGenics.
Minimum Qualifications
Contract Manufacturing Manager
Education, Experience & Credentials
- At least 5 years’ experience in biotech/pharma industry with relevant Bachelor’s degree
OR
- At least 3 years’ experience with Master’s degree in a scientific field
- A minimum of 2 years of direct experience managing partnered or CDMO projects
- Direct experience in one or more areas of CMC biopharmaceutical or related product development field (e.g. process development, technical services, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical supply)
Sr. Contract Manufacturing Manager
Education, Experience & Credentials
- At least 7 years’ experience in biotech/pharma industry with relevant Bachelor’s degree
OR
- At least 5 years’ experience with Master’s degree in a scientific field
- A minimum of 4 years of direct experience managing partnered or CDMO projects
- Direct experience in one or more areas of CMC biopharmaceutical or related product development field (e.g. process development, technical services, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical supply)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Planning and monitoring skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to lead cross-functional meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated understanding of project management principles applicable to bio/pharma
- Capable of concurrently and efficiently managing multiple competing priorities
- Well-organized with ability to effectively establish priorities and manage multiple responsibilities, tasks, and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
