Contract Designer/Cadd Technician

Job Description

This position emphasizes design and plan set preparation for Site/Civil Design such as residential and commercial development, and utility projects. Work activities may include; grading, pipe networks, alignments, profiles, sections, and redline drafting for conceptual, preliminary, and final design drawings. The ability to coordinate and communicate well with the project engineers, managers, and other professionals is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining AutoCAD Civil 3D engineering drawings that compile to create a set of permittable plans.
• Prepare designs from general instruction and preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics.
• Prepare working drawings from conceptual to Development Plan, then to final engineering documents and construction record drawings.
• Coordinate with other team members including engineers, managers, administrative staff and construction staff members.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience with emphasis in land development and utilities.
• Experience using Civil 3D to create surfaces, alignments and profiles.
• Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects.
• Strong interest in all phases of Civil Engineering including land development, utilities, water resources, and construction.
• High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
