The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of a lean manufacturing system in the facility. The role will define and teach new ways of working utilizing lean methodologies. The CI Leader will lead, train and execute Continuous Improvement initiatives designed to improve KPI performance and increase site leadership and hourly employee knowledge and behaviors to remove waste in all areas of the site.
- Support the development of lean manufacturing processes; Continuous Improvement, standard work, problem solving, value stream mapping, training and employee involvement.
- Lead, teach and coach employees at all levels on lean manufacturing processes.
- Facilitate the development of and maintain the site implementation plan for the lean manufacturing operating system.
- Drive lean training and implement a lean toolkit utilizing PDCA; value stream mapping; quick changeovers; Kaizen, problem solving, 5S, etc.
- Lead Continuous Improvement events resulting in employee skill and knowledge development and KPI performance improvements.
- Using tracking and reporting systems, prepares plans, drives performance, and assures timely completion and achievement of product/process quality and savings goals.
- Identifies barriers to success and solicits help from leadership when needed.
Education:
- BS/MS in Engineering, Business, Food Science.
- Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing certifications.
Analytical skills:
- Continuous improvement knowledge and education.
- Knowledge and proficiency of problem-solving toolkit.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodology.
- HACCP/food safety experience.
- Experience in food, chemical, or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency leading kaizen events, value stream mapping and utilizing lean problem-solving methods.
- Progressive experience in Change Management.
