The Content Strategist is a new role that will be responsible for building and shaping our content creation and marketing strategies, reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. This role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to both lead and produce, with a focus on content creation, management, and omni-channel optimization and measurement. The ideal candidate should have a profound understanding of the role content plays in a successful marketing strategy, familiarity with content ecosystems, audience engagement strategies, and data-driven content analysis. They should be adept at collaborating with internal teams and external partners to produce compelling and effective content that aligns to the Cerity Partners brand voice.
Primary Responsibilities:
As the Content Strategist your responsibilities would include the following:
- Establish and deploy a sophisticated content creation and marketing strategy for Cerity Partners
- Serve as the editor-in-chief for content across the firm, copyediting and refining content in a hands-on manner
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to convey complex topics in easy to consume ways
- Apply innovative thinking and creativity to all content creation and distribution approaches to help Cerity Partners stand out in the market
- Create and own the content lifecycle, ensuring content is timely, relevant and up to date
- Work with businesses to create, evolve and evaluate marketing collateral
- Oversee creative production in partnership with in-house video and design leads
- Contribute to content for organic and paid social media, web and e-mail marketing as needed
- Create internal processes that showcase a high volume of content for colleague use
- Serve as a lead voice on the Cerity Partners Editorial Board
- Establish persona-based content to ensure Cerity Partners is addressing its most important demographics
- Support client and prospecting communications
- Maintain analytics on content performance across platforms including engagement metrics, conversions and brand metrics to gauge impact and insights
- Lead the firm's thinking on content marketing trends and best practices
- Drive efficiencies by ensuring all content is maximally leveraged
- Maintain the firmwide content calendar to be both proactive and responsive to market activity
- Ensure application of brand voice across all content creation
- Be an evangelist for all things content
Ideal Candidate Profile - "Our Casting Call!"
- 10+ years of professional experience in content creation, communications, content marketing, journalism or a related field
- Superior written and verbal communications skills
- Willingness and ability to both lead strategy and execute tactically
- Experience working in a matrixed organization
- Possess a passion for writing and content creation
- Ability to establish rapport and collaborate with subject-matter experts across the firm
- Strong presence and presentation skills; ability to effectively articulate both strategy and process; skilled in adapting style to disparate audiences
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of creatives
- Effective collaborator with the ability to build consensus and lead by influence
- Experience in the wealth planning/RIA space a plus
