In a Nutshell: The Content Manager will work closely with the marketing department, business teams, and external agencies, to deliver engaging content that meets the expectations of the department and member needs with a focus on application and overall membership growth. They need to be able to effectively communicate and interpret messages in a variety of mediums in both digital and print projects. They need a strong technical background and experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, photography, videography, website design, and copywriting.

The Nitty Gritty

Design: Manages the creation of flyers, logos, posters, web pages, emails, advertisements, merchandise, presentations, and more. Manages print projects. Designs visually appealing and effective pieces. Stays up to date with new and emerging design trends. Applies best practices to the design and development of both digital and printed content.

Photography: Leads in the concepting, planning, and execution of both small- and large-scale photoshoots. Manages database of images. Serves as one of our main photographers. Edits and enhances photos as needed.

Audio/Video: Shoots, edits, and produces both audio and video clips. Conceptualizes storyboards. Operates video production and recording equipment including cameras, mics, lights, and more. Produces GIFs and other animations.

Copywriting: Creates and reviews grammatically correct copy for content. Edits and proofs copy. Conveys clear and effective messages targeted to the appropriate audience. Caters writing style to our brand voice.

Brand: Understands, maintains, and consistently executes upon our brand standards. Helps create tools to ensure that others understand and can also execute brand standards. Consistently works to evolve our brand look, feel, voice, and tone.

Content Creation: Supervises the creation of engaging and on-brand copy for all channels including, but not limited to email, landing page, internal communications, website, social media, advertisement, and PR. Regularly audits web copy to optimize. Owns the upkeep of our content concept library. Identifies what concepts are important points of communication/education to our current/future members and employees in that library and how/how often to reinvent.

Public Relations: Owns the strategic planning of our PR efforts. Creates copy for press releases, trade publications, and thought leadership pieces. Helps facilitate external PR requests and proactively identifies PR opportunities (trade pubs, speaking events, press releases). Identifies and works to build relationships to assist in the execution of our PR strategy.

Brand Stakeholder: Assures that audits are being done on our brand's touchpoints to understand what's working and what isn't. Works with Talent Development to create organization-wide training and tools to help our brand thrive. Creates copy that is on voice/tone for all channels. Executes and coordinates brand training events and tools. Serves as an ambassador for our core values, brand, and culture. Makes sure Brand Book style guides are maintained for voice/tone. Creates and evolves Brand Book copy/strategy.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Associates degree/Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent work experience in Marketing or Communications

  • Two or more years in graphic design and copywriting

  • Two or more years' experience managing.

  • 1 or more years in video production and photography

  • Must be detailed and deadline oriented, highly organized.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a charismatic and engaging personality

This individual should also possess excellent verbal communication skills and mathematical reasoning ability. They must understand all Vibrant Credit Union products and services. It is essential that this individual understand and abide by the strict confidentiality policies that are necessary in any financial institution.

Environmental and Physical Activity Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require effective talking, hearing, walking, finger dexterity, reaching, stooping, and grasping functions. The position also often requires reaching, lifting (up to 25 pounds). Frequent sitting, standing, and repetitive motion activities are also required. Must be able to read print and computer based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy. Most of these functions require light physical exertion and are conducted indoors with controlled degrees of temperatures.
