Essential Job Functions

The mission of the Content Strategy team is to implement an integrated content ecosystem, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence in delivering tailored content experiences across Kirkland & Ellis platforms.

  • The Associate Director, Content Management Strategy will assist the Director, Content Management Strategy in leading their team, facilitating effective team functions and furthering the growth and success of all content strategy activities.
  • The position will further the content strategy initiative across the firm, developing processes, as well as deliverables to be scoped and implemented. Because of the nature of this position, we are looking for someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit, effective communication skills and a passion for strategic thinking. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • The Associate Director of Content Management Strategy works closely with firm’s Director of Content Management Strategy to support consistent and efficient creation, management and sharing of knowledge assets with appropriate quality, accessibility, and efficient collaboration among the constituents.
  • Assist in the creation of and management of road maps for the Content Management processes and needed digital platforms to enhance the effectiveness of Knowledge Managers and their stakeholders in terms of experience, usage, usability, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Support the knowledge management life cycle and assist in the integration of them across Content Management platforms for timely and effective content rendering with best-in-class catalogue, search, and AI capabilities.     
  • Work in partnership across various KM user groups to understand their technology needs, as well as feedback on effectiveness of the KM function with an emphasis on continuous process and experience improvements.  

OTHER FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Support the Content Management Strategy team in terms of needed capabilities to create, distribute and maintain assets, platforms, and governance. Works closely with firm’s functional, knowledge management and business leaders to understand, document and contribute to the firm’s KM objectives, initiatives, and road maps.
  • Work with multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholders, at all levels, to ensure content strategy is executed and included in all Content Management tools.
  • Manage team tasks with Director and Project Manager, managing bandwidth and resourcing for effective work balance across IT.
  • Lead planning initiatives and presentation recommendations to internal teams, stakeholders and agencies.
  • Add value by finding gaps in current Content Management Strategy scopes and goals and proposing solutions in those areas.
  • Manage/mentor direct reports and provide guidance on career path/future development.
  • Partners with user groups, technical teams, and knowledge advisory groups to map their objectives with firm’s technology, and business initiatives to promote firmwide access, usage and adoption of Content and knowledge assets.
  • Assist in maintaining firm’s end to end connected view of Content, storage/distribution platforms, create-review-update-share-retire processes of Content for improved reuse, effectiveness, governance, and ROI.
  • Ensure Content Management processes comply with firm’s security, risk and information governance policies.  
  • Develop and/or lead change management efforts across all phases of projects and initiatives to drive the Firm’s culture of continuous improvement.
  • Acts as internal Content Management champion and promotes and contributes to ongoing KM, Data, and technology initiatives.
  • Be a role model by representing firm’s values and ethics.
  • Fosters and promotes heathy working relationships across the board to propagate end-to-end value of Content and knowledge.
  • Develop and/or lead change management efforts across all phases of projects and initiatives to drive the Firm’s culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education plus professional experience required.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in digital/Content Management, SharePoint expertise, document management, search and knowledge management.
  • Experience in Cloud platforms, such as M365, is desired.
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills – ability to digest data from a variety of business and stakeholders; ask the right follow-up questions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including presentation experience.
  • Ability to teach and educate staff on Content Management and deliverables.
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to work within a team dynamic, or independently as needed.
  • Proven change management skills
