TSINY, a non-profit Mental Health Services Agency seeks Consumer Accounts Specialist for its office, located in Queens (Whitestone), NY.
Salary: $20.87 Per Hour; Monday-Friday
Position Summary
Provides financial and administrative support to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of Consumer Accounts, and completes other tasks and projects as directed by the Controller and CFO.
Essential Functions
Consumer Accounts – Maintain up-to-date and accurate consumer account balances, including, but not limited to:
- The timely and accurate posting of consumer cash receipts.
- The timely and accurate process of Program Director workbooks for the processing of payments to consumers.
- Preparation and maintenance of the Agency’s consumer telephone and utility bill worksheets and proper posting of them to Consumer Accounts.
- The timely and accurate follow-up on adjustments.
- Ongoing reconciliation of Consumer Accounts to the General Ledger.
- Ongoing communication with program staff regarding consumer account questions and comments
- Keeping the Controller and CFO up-to-date on problems and concerns with Consumer Accounts.
Daily Departmental Operations
- Disseminate Agency financial reports to management as needed.
- Generate workflow reports for management as needed.
- Expedite the transfer of daily billing cash receipts data from the billing application to the general ledger.
- Maintain current analysis of TSINY investment accounts.
- Facilitate the transfer of bi-weekly payroll information from payroll to the general ledger and reporting to managers the time incurred by workers.
- Maintain the Departmental vacation calendar and complete other tasks to ensure the smooth running of the department.
- Maintain the ongoing analysis of staff expenses and corporate card expenses.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the CFO.
- Work with other Agency staff as requested.
- Assist in the year-end audit as needed.
- Be able to sit or stand as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- May require walking, primarily on a level surface, for short periods throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Be able to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Driver’s license preferred.

Experience/Education/Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Demonstrated analytical skills utilizing budgetary, operational, financial and related information
- Experience in not-for-profit operations and accounting.
- Significant computer skills (Excel, Word, computerized accounting)
