Job Description
Your Career
As a Consulting Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, you are responsible for improving the productivity of our sales teams through the creation and delivery of business-relevant security conversations to our key Service Provider prospects and customers. As a thought leader and SME for secure mobility, you will work with the field teams to leverage Palo Alto Networks technologies in a way that creates differentiated business value. As a trusted advisor, you will provide valuable insights and education on effective risk reduction, network security, monetization strategies, and cost reduction through a telco security approach based on the Palo Alto Networks security platform.
Your Impact
- Effectively lead conversations about our security platform and solutions
- Create and deliver compelling demonstrations of products and solutions that clearly differentiates from competitors or legacy security solutions
- Educate customers and partners on the modern network security landscape
- Identify and qualify new opportunities, and support technical pre-sales activities to opportunity closure
- Dedicatedly expand our install base within existing accounts
- Maintain key partner technical relationships and effectively enable and demonstrate channel partners to excel in a channel-driven sales model
- Create evaluation test plans with customers that highlight the strengths of our platform and clearly differentiate from competitors, and manage the evaluation process to a successful conclusion
- Understand and assist customers through the support escalation process, helping manage support escalations with the customer to closure, if necessary
- Position the integration of the Palo Alto Networks Platform in 4G/5G Mobility core networks by identifying customers and market requirements, developing innovative technical solutions to align with your customer's unique needs
- Drive PoCs allowing the ability to demonstrate our superior 4G/5G Secure Mobility solutions
- Build and maintain lab capabilities and demonstrate the value proposition of the proposed solution
- Be the SME of Palo Alto Networks as the pre-sales expert for the Palo Alto Networks Secure Mobile Platform in 4G/5G Mobility networks
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams on new feature releases and provide feedback on current feature capabilities based on field experience/input
- Regular contribution and presentation in Practice and other team meetings
- Develop and coach appropriate practice specialists and practice team members
- Develop and lead Internal and Partner facing Secure Mobility workshops
Qualifications
Your Experience
- Experience as a successful SE, Systems Integrator, or equivalent experience
- Experience with Mobile 3G, 4G, and 5G Networks and corresponding 3GPP standards
- In-depth knowledge of 4G and 5G network elements (MME, AMF, UPF, etc.) and the security needs for these networks
- Prior experience selling network infrastructure based security appliances, such as Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs, Security Proxies, and Caches
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally
- Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze complex multivariate problems and use a systematic approach to gain quick resolution, often under duress
- Familiar with Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, and DevOps
- Have worked with and/or presented to numerous C-Level and SVP leadership about business and technical solutions - able to field questions on the fly and "own the room."
- Thorough understanding of orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.) and Container technology
- Authored blogs and/or white papers related to service provider security in the past
- Detailed understanding of Palo Alto Networks security subscriptions and offerings
- Ideally, one or more patents related to networking or network security
- Experience speaking at industry events, tradeshows, and conferences
- Experience selling, demonstrating, installing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure security products
- Experience training customers and partners on technical subject matter, including new networking and security features

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $168,000/yr to $231,000/yr.
