The Construction Review-Inspections Manageris a highly technical professional position that managers the day-to-day operations of the plan's examiners or inspections staff in the Building Department. This position interacts and assists the public and coordinates and works with other sections in the Building Department and Developmental Services. Serves as Acting Building Official in the absence of the Building Official.

What You Will Do:
- Highly technical professional position that managers the day-to-day operations of the plan's examiners or inspection staff in the Building Division. This position interacts and assists the public and coordinates and works with other sections in the Building Division and Development Services. Serves as Acting Building Official in the absence of the Building Official.
- Supervise the Plans Examiner and Inspections staff to ensure the plans examiner and inspection functions comply with applicable Florida Building Codes, Federal, State, and local ordinances.
- Works closely and support the Building Official to direct and coordinate managerial support and guidance for Division technical and administrative staff.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements, construction technology and provides guidance to staff regarding the interpretation and application of various codes and regulatory standards for which the Building Division is responsible to enforce.
- Implements and manages staff internship training programs to improve Division service levels and efficiencies through development of a multi-disciplined, muti-licensed, and well-trained plans examining and inspections staff.
- Works in conjunction with the Building Official to develop and implement a citizen-centric culture providing emphasis on creating user friendly and efficient processes.
- Responds and provides resolution to inquiries and issues brought forth by citizens, the business community, contractors, City Departments and divisions and other stakeholders regarding building code related issues.
- Attends County meetings and meeting with the public and provides information through written, oral, and multi-media presentations.
- Provides testimony when required at Special Magistrate and Trades Board hearing.
- Thorough knowledge of State of Florida Building Codes, FEMA Floodplain regulations, and the ability to interpret and equitably apply them for all permit types.
- Extensive experience in examining building plans and inspections.
- Thorough knowledge of the building permitting processes including permit applications, plans examining and inspections.
- Thorough knowledge of building department operations, including administration, technology, and legal functions.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, building construction, or related field.
- Ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible experience as an architect, engineer, plans examiner, building code inspector, registered or certified contractor, or construction superintendent, to include 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Standard License in one discipline (Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical) issued by the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB) as an Inspector or Plans Examiner required.
- Florida Building Code Administrator License required or must obtain within one year of hire.
- A comparable combination of education, training, and work experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position, may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
